Cinderella Castle Repainting Begins at Magic Kingdom
The iconic Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom is undergoing a full repaint to restore its classic gray, cream, and blue color scheme, moving away from the pink-and-royal-blue palette introduced for the 50th Anniversary celebration.
The castle moat was drained in early January to accommodate scaffolding and equipment. Cranes are positioned around the structure but are lowered and out of sight by noon each day to minimize visual impact for guests. Shows including Happily Ever After and Mickey's Magical Friendship Faire continue with minor adjustments.
By early March, crews had begun painting the tallest tower, with the full project expected to wrap up by late spring 2026. The restoration has been widely praised by longtime Disney fans who preferred the original color palette.
