DinoLand U.S.A. Permanently Closes at Animal Kingdom

DinoLand U.S.A. permanently closed on February 2, 2026, removing an entire themed land from Disney's Animal Kingdom. The area, which included the DINOSAUR ride, TriceraTop Spin, and carnival-style games, is being demolished to make way for Tropical Americas.

The Tropical Americas expansion will be a large-scale reimagining inspired by Central and South American cultures, wildlife, and stories. The new land will feature an Encanto ride-through attraction, an Indiana Jones Adventure ride, and a wood-carved carousel.

The closure marks the end of an era for DinoLand, which had been part of Animal Kingdom since the park opened in 1998. While the DINOSAUR ride had its devoted fans, the area's carnival theming was frequently criticized as out of place in the park.
