Disney Deploys Aggressive Hotel Discounting Amid Attendance Concerns
Disney reported domestic park attendance was up only 1% in Q1 2026, a modest recovery that prompted aggressive discounting. The company warned of "attendance headwinds," specifically citing reduced international visitation.
In response, Disney deployed significant discounts: up to $250 per night off Deluxe resorts, $150 off Moderate resorts, and $75 off Value resorts for stays between February 22 and July 25, 2026. A special Future Stay Offer with up to 35% off resort rooms was also extended to recent Disney Cruise Line guests.
The discounting strategy represents a shift from the post-pandemic era when Disney rarely offered meaningful deals, suggesting the company is prioritizing occupancy rates over per-room revenue in the near term.
