Fyre Drill Closes for Extended Refurbishment at Epic Universe

Universal announced that Fyre Drill, the interactive boat ride in the How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk area of Epic Universe, would close for refurbishment beginning February 1. The closure was initially scheduled for one week but was later extended through February 13.

The water ride had faced recurring operational challenges since the park opened in May 2025, with frequent downtime and reduced capacity frustrating guests. Many fans believed this refurbishment was a necessary intervention rather than routine maintenance.

Fyre Drill ultimately reopened on February 14, just in time for the Presidents Day holiday weekend. Universal has not disclosed the specific nature of the repairs undertaken during the closure.
