Jurassic Park River Adventure Closes for Nearly Year-Long Refurbishment

Jurassic Park River Adventure closed on January 5, 2026, for an extensive refurbishment not expected to conclude until November 19, 2026 -- nearly 11 months. This represents one of the longest single-ride closures in Universal Orlando history.

The extended timeline suggests major work including fresh boats, refreshed show elements, enhanced animatronics, and upgraded theming throughout the ride path. Construction walls have been erected around portions of the Jurassic Park area.

The classic water ride has been a fixture at Islands of Adventure since the park opened in 1999 and remains one of the most popular attractions. When it returns, guests can expect a significantly refreshed experience.
