Monsters, Inc. Door Coaster Vertical Construction Begins at Hollywood Studios

A massive crane arrived at Hollywood Studios in February for vertical construction of the Monsters, Inc. Door Coaster, Disney's first-ever suspended roller coaster. The ride will take guests through the iconic Door Vault scene from the beloved Pixar film.

Heavy facade modifications are also underway on the former MuppetVision 3D building, which will become "The Glob" theatre as part of the larger Monstropolis expansion. The area is expected to open by summer 2028.

Three new construction permits were filed, indicating continued investment in the park's ongoing transformation from a movie studio theme to a fully immersive entertainment destination.
