Piston Peak National Park Construction Underway at Magic Kingdom

Disney is transforming the former Rivers of America area at Magic Kingdom into Piston Peak National Park, a Cars-themed land featuring towering trees, mountain terrain, waterfalls, rivers, and geysers inspired by America's national parks and the Cars universe.

Construction permits filed in January reveal the scope of the project, which will be one of the largest expansions in Magic Kingdom history. The Walt Disney World Railroad is operating on an altered route due to this construction, with portions of the track rerouted around the work zone.

Infrastructure completion is targeted for 2028, with the land expected to feature multiple attractions, dining locations, and character experiences themed to the beloved Pixar franchise.
