Pteranodon Flyers and Additional Rides Close at Islands of Adventure
Pteranodon Flyers at Islands of Adventure closed February 27 for refurbishment, with a return date of May 14, 2026. Combined with the extended Jurassic Park River Adventure closure, the Jurassic Park area of Islands of Adventure is significantly impacted for much of 2026.
Construction walls have gone up around multiple locations in the land, giving the area an under-construction feel that contrasts with the lush, immersive theming guests expect from the Jurassic Park section.
The simultaneous closures suggest Universal may be coordinating broader improvements across the entire Jurassic Park area, though the company has not confirmed any plans beyond the individual ride refurbishments.
