SeaWorld Rescues 16 Cold-Stunned Sea Turtles from Titusville
SeaWorld Orlando's animal rescue team took in 16 cold-stunned sea turtles from Titusville, Florida, showing visible signs of cold-stress following a prolonged period of unusually low temperatures in the region.
The park's rehabilitation team is working to nurse the turtles back to health for eventual return to their natural habitats. Each turtle receives medical evaluations, warmed environments, and specialized nutrition as part of the recovery process.
Separately, an injured mother manatee and her calf were also rescued and brought to SeaWorld for rehabilitation in late February. SeaWorld's rescue program has aided thousands of marine animals since its inception and remains one of the largest marine animal rescue operations in the country.
