Stardust Racers Kept Open Despite Valleying Incidents
Despite multiple valleying incidents where coaster trains became stuck in low track sections, Universal decided to keep Stardust Racers operational through early 2026. Video from January showed both trains stranded in valleys between hills during separate incidents.
One particularly dramatic incident required a crane to physically lift and reposition a stranded train. The dual-track launch coaster, capable of reaching 62 mph, is considered by many reviewers to be the best roller coaster in Florida.
The reliability issues have been a persistent concern since Epic Universe's opening, though Universal has maintained that the ride meets all safety standards. A more extensive refurbishment would come in February when the ride closed for nearly a month.
