Twin Brothers Sue Universal Over Harry Potter Ride Injuries

Twin brothers Derrick and Erick Burrough filed lawsuits against Universal Orlando, alleging they suffered back and neck injuries when their Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry ride vehicle malfunctioned on Christmas Day 2025.

The brothers claim the vehicle came to an abrupt hard stop and they were thrust erratically. Represented by Morgan & Morgan, they each seek over $50,000 in damages. The lawsuit alleges Universal operated a ride "plagued by repeated malfunctions, glitches and hard stops" since opening.

The case highlights ongoing reliability concerns with Epic Universe's technologically ambitious attractions. Universal has not publicly commented on the pending litigation.
