Universal Announces UK Theme Park as Part of Global Expansion

As part of NBCUniversal's 100th anniversary celebration, the company confirmed it is developing its first European theme park near Bedford, UK, with construction starting in 2026 and an anticipated opening in 2031.

The UK park will include a world-class theme park and a 500-room hotel, marking a significant global expansion alongside Epic Universe's ongoing development in Orlando. Universal also announced new formats including its first Universal Kids Resort.

The announcement positions Universal as an increasingly global competitor to Disney, which has long maintained international parks in Paris, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. The UK location would give Universal a major presence in the European market for the first time.
