Volcano Bay Announces Five-Month Closure for Major Refurbishment

Universal announced that Volcano Bay will close October 26, 2026, for a massive five-month refurbishment through March 24, 2027. The renovation will upgrade wave pools, ride launches, water filtration, and technical systems across the park.

Universal has also discontinued its 3-park annual pass option that included Volcano Bay, though current passholders will retain access when the park reopens. The move signals a significant investment in the water park's future.

The closure will allow Universal to address infrastructure issues that have plagued the park since its 2017 opening, including the TapuTapu wearable system and various slide mechanisms that have experienced recurring problems.
