Disney Patent Filing Would Let AI Spot an Animal Doing Something and Alert Your Phone, and It Could Reroute the Tour Vehicle

The US Patent and Trademark Office published Disney Enterprises' patent application US 2026/0283118 A1 on September 24. It describes cameras inside an animal enclosure, on tour vehicles and boats and on drones, feeding a machine learning model that scores what it sees and pushes an alert to phones, in-vehicle screens and RFID wristbands. One passage says a vehicle or a boat can change its planned course once the alert arrives.

Little Red, the Baby Elephant Pulled From Kilimanjaro Safaris in 2012, Is Back on View, but Only on Animal Kingdom's $39 Elephant Tour

New photos show Little Red, the baby elephant figure from Kilimanjaro Safaris' old anti-poaching storyline, standing in the greenery backstage at Animal Kingdom with its own Walt Disney World placard. For now, the way to see it is the Caring for Giants tour, a 60-minute elephant experience that costs $39 per person, plus tax, on top of park admission.
