Opening night of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party introduced Blair Lockward and Lady Fermotta, two brand new Haunted Mansion characters, plus a rare character appearance by the Grave Diggers. Ten of the season's 38 dates have already sold out.

Disney Swapped Out the Haunted Mansion's Stretching Room Ceiling After a Dirty Scrim Made the Hanging Corpse Disappear

Cleaning it was not enough. Twelve days after guests looked up in Magic Kingdom's left Stretching Room and could not find the hanging corpse, Disney has replaced the scrim ceiling outright. The new one has shading around the triangle and octagon designs, and the figure is clearly visible again. The right room's scrim, where the corpse stayed visible, has not been replaced.

The Haunted Mansion Came Out From Behind the Scaffolding With a New Roof, Ashy Chimneys and Shrubs Still to Be Replanted

Magic Kingdom's Haunted Mansion is visible again. The scaffolding and most of the scrim were down by Friday morning, capping an exterior project that traces back to a December 2025 permit, and the building underneath has a new roof, ashy black detailing near the chimney tops and a dome finial that has gone from gold or bronze to a green patina. The shrubs and trees cleared to make room for the scaffolding have not been replanted yet.

More Scrim Comes Off the Haunted Mansion and the Facade Underneath Has Changed: Green Cupola, Darker Brick, Lighter Stone

After roughly six months behind scaffolding and scrim, Magic Kingdom's Haunted Mansion is starting to reappear, and it does not look the way it did before the work began. The cupola dome is green, the brick is noticeably darker, and the stone trim has been lightened, undoing the even-toned look the building had settled into by 2011. Disney has said nothing about the work, and one wall near the exit is still visibly half-finished.
