Disney has now dropped the full reveal package on Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, the Hollywood Studios overhaul replacing the long-running Aerosmith-themed coaster (which closed at the beginning of March 2026). The opening date is Tuesday May 26 (the day after Memorial Day), the Electric Mayhem setlist is locked, the celebrity wheatpaste posters are dropping in waves through the queue, and Disney has confirmed Cast Member, Annual Passholder, and Disney Vacation Club previews before the May 26 public open (specific dates TBA).

The headlines:

  • Opens Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Day after Memorial Day, at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

  • Same track, all-new theme. The ride layout is the existing Aerosmith coaster; everything around the layout is new.

  • The Electric Mayhem are the headliners. Dr. Teeth, Animal, Floyd, Janice, Zoot, and Lips, plus Scooter, Camilla the Chicken, Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, and Dr. Bunsen Honeydew across the queue and post-show.

  • First-ever Scooter Audio-Animatronic. Joined by penguin audio engineers in the recording-studio queue.

  • Cast Member, Annual Passholder, and eligible Disney Vacation Club previews are confirmed before the May 26 public open. Specific registration dates have not yet been announced.

The story (and the L.I.M.O.)

Disney's logline: "With help from Muppet Labs (and a very fast limousine), guests will take a twisting, turning, and screamingly fun road trip across Hollywood to reach the concert in time." Translation: the Electric Mayhem are headlining a Hollywood concert, the band has gone missing, and guests get pulled into a VIP tour through G-Force Records' recording studio before boarding the L.I.M.O. (Lengthy Immediate Motion Object), the band's tour vehicle. The original Aerosmith story's "you're late for a concert" hook is preserved, but the entire wrapper is Muppet-fied.

The 5-track setlist

The on-board music rotates across five tracks, all anchored by the Electric Mayhem. The featured-artist guests on three of the five lean hard into Disney's star-power playbook:

  1. "Song 2", performed by The Electric Mayhem.

  2. "Born To Be Wild", The Electric Mayhem featuring Camilla the Chicken.

  3. "Love Rollercoaster", The Electric Mayhem featuring Jennifer Hudson & Questlove.

  4. "Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)", The Electric Mayhem featuring Def Leppard.

  5. "Walking on Sunshine", The Electric Mayhem featuring Kelly Clarkson.

The celebrity wheatpaste queue (and the cameos)

Disney has been dropping celebrity poster art into the queue in waves over the past two weeks. The current cameo lineup, all rendered as Muppet-style wheatpaste posters guests pass on their way through the line:

  • Awkwafina with the Muppets

  • Danny Trejo with Kermit the Frog

  • Darren Criss with the Muppets

  • John Stamos

  • Neil Patrick Harris

  • Travis Barker

  • Yvette Nicole Brown

  • Wayne Brady

  • "Weird Al" Yankovic

Imagineering set decorator Ben Conway (featured in a Disney YouTube video discussing the queue and load area) said he revisited classic Muppet source material while designing props, hiding Easter eggs longtime fans would recognize. J.P. Grosse, the Muppet Theatre's real-estate-tycoon owner, is referenced in the queue too, alongside a redesigned guitar marquee with a psychedelic Muppet-car aesthetic and a golden piano-key motif at the base, honoring band leader Dr. Teeth.

How to get in early

The preview window stack:

  • Cast Member previews: confirmed for before the public open. Registration date and guest-allotment details have not yet been announced.

  • Annual Passholder previews: registration windows announced separately, before the May 26 public open.

  • Disney Vacation Club previews: similar windows, eligibility tied to membership status.

  • Public opening: Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

Disney's framing line: "Crank the volume and warm up those air guitars because Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is officially ready to take center stage at Disney's Hollywood Studios!"

Quick planner notes

  • Memorial Day weekend pre-game. Memorial Day weekend itself (May 22-25) is rope-drop volume territory; the May 26 official open lands the day AFTER the long weekend, when crowd levels typically dip.

  • The setlist rotates randomly. Best chance to catch a specific track is to ride 4 to 5 times, ideally across morning and evening windows.

  • The queue has more story than the original. Plan for a slower walk through the recording studio than you may be used to from the Aerosmith version.

  • Watch for Cast, AP, and DVC preview announcements. Disney typically announces specific eligible-member preview windows 1 to 2 weeks before the public open.

Disney's Wilderness Lodge Battles a Days-Long AC Outage During a Central Florida Heat Wave

A stay at one of Walt Disney World's flagship Deluxe resorts is not supposed to come with a box fan, but that has been the reality for some guests at Disney's Wilderness Lodge this week. The main building's central air conditioning has been down since Thursday, June 18, just as Central Florida sweltered under back-to-back heat advisories with feels-like temperatures topping 105 degrees. By Monday, June 22, Disney had trucked in temporary chillers and portable spot coolers and many guest rooms had cooled back down, though the Grand Lobby and some interior spaces stayed warm, and the central system was not yet fully restored. Disney has not commented publicly.
