Mark your calendars, Nintendo fans — Yoshi is making his debut at Universal's Epic Universe. Starting March 10 (MAR10 Day) and running daily through April 13, 2026, guests at Super Nintendo World will be able to meet the beloved green dinosaur as part of a limited-time celebration tied to the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy Movie, hitting theaters April 1.

This marks the first major character addition to Epic Universe since the park opened, and Universal is going all-in with exclusive food, collectible merchandise, and free photo opportunities to mark the occasion.

Meet Yoshi in Super Nintendo World

The Yoshi meet and greet will be available daily within Super Nintendo World at Epic Universe. This is a walk-up character interaction — no separate reservation required. The experience runs simultaneously at Universal Studios Hollywood as well, but the Epic Universe version is the one Central Florida visitors will want to target.

Galaxy-Themed Food & Treats

Universal is rolling out a lineup of movie-inspired food items across the land:

  • Rosalina Cupcake — A blue velvet cupcake with blueberry cheesecake filling, lemon buttercream frosting, topped with a chocolate crown and star
  • Galaxy Popcorn — Multicolored berry-flavored popcorn with edible glitter, served in a collectible container
  • Additional Super Mario Galaxy-inspired specialty desserts throughout the celebration period

Interactive Luma Shoulder Pals

Perhaps the most exciting merch drop is the new interactive Luma shoulder pals, available in blue and yellow variants. These wearable accessories feature light and sound effects and can actually communicate with each other when two guests wearing them get close together — a clever social touch that should make for some fun moments in the parks.

Free Photo Spots at CityWalk

Even if you don't have a park ticket, Universal is setting up free galactic-themed photo spots at Universal CityWalk Orlando where guests can snap pics with Super Mario Galaxy backdrops at no charge.

Other Epic Universe Updates for March

A few other things to know if you're planning a visit:

  • Stardust Racers closure has been extended through March 14, 2026
  • Dark Universe land attractions are not available for Early Park Admission through March 31
  • Annual Pass availability for Epic Universe remains a hot topic as the park approaches its one-year anniversary

Plan Your Visit

The Yoshi meet and greet and all MAR10 Day experiences run March 10 through April 13, 2026 and are included with Epic Universe admission. With the Super Mario Galaxy Movie dropping April 1, expect this celebration to build momentum throughout the month. If you want to beat the crowds, the first week (March 10-16) is likely your best window.

Universal Files Permits for a 71,500-Square-Foot Building in Epic Universe's Dark Universe

Something big is taking shape in the spookiest corner of Epic Universe. A new permit filing points to a building of roughly 71,500 square feet planned for the heart of Darkmoor Village, the classic-monsters town inside the park's Dark Universe world, with Stantec Architecture listed on the paperwork. That footprint is on par with full attractions at Epic Universe, like the Mario Kart ride and the Untrainable Dragon show, so this is no gift shop. Universal will only say that permit filings are routine and that it has no further details to share, which leaves the fun question wide open: a new monster ride, a theater, or something else entirely?
