Max's Powerline Dance Party No Longer Opens the Boo-To-You Parade, and Now Runs as Five Stage Shows Around Magic Kingdom

If you staked out a spot on Main Street, U.S.A. on Friday night waiting for Max Goof to come dancing past ahead of Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade, you were waiting for something that did not happen. Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party opened its 2026 season on August 7, and the Powerline pre-parade that has run in past seasons did not perform on Main Street before it.

Instead, Max and his dancers performed on stages elsewhere in Magic Kingdom, on a fixed schedule. WDW News Today, which caught the switch on the first party night of the season, described it directly: Max's "Powerline-inspired roaming dance party is a stage show at several locations throughout the night and is no longer performed prior to Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade."

Five showtimes, and none of them is the parade

The offering is listed under a name of its own this season: Max and the Powerline Party Pack. WDWMagic's 2026 party entertainment guide lists five performances per party night, at 7:00pm, 7:55pm, 8:50pm, 10:25pm and 11:25pm.

WDW News Today caught one of those on the Adventureland stage, and picked up a later one at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland. In previous seasons, per the same report, Max and his dancers worked their way down Main Street, U.S.A. just before the parade, as a roaming warm-up act.

So is it new, or is it not?

A little of both, and the two reports frame it differently. WDWMagic's guide calls Max and the Powerline Party Pack "A new addition to the 2026 lineup." WDW News Today, meanwhile, points out that the Powerline material is anything but new: "The Powerline offering itself dates back to 2022, when Max debuted the costume at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and periodically performed with dancers on Main Street, U.S.A."

Both hold up. The character, the costume and the concept have been turning up at the party on and off since Max debuted the look in 2022. What is new for 2026 is the packaging: a named act, set showtimes and a stage, in place of a roving dance party that moved down Main Street ahead of the parade.

What the costumes are referencing

The look comes from the finale of A Goofy Movie, the 1995 film in which Max dresses as the pop star Powerline and ends up onstage alongside his father. Max wears the yellow Powerline outfit; his backup dancers are in loud, unmistakably 1990s gear, all orange and lime graphic tees, rolled plaid pants, knotted shirts at the waist and high tops.

The rest of the 2026 party lineup

If you are building a night around this, the rest of the confirmed schedule, per WDWMagic's entertainment guide:

• Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade: 8:15pm and 11:15pm.
• Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular: 9:05pm, 10:35pm and 12:00am, with a 7:35pm performance added from October 1.
• Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular: 10pm.
• The Cadaver Dans: six times a night in Frontierland.
• Captain Jack's Buccaneer Bash, Stitch's Masquerade Mashup and the Destination DescenDANCE Party: continuous from 7pm to midnight.

Party nights themselves run 7pm to midnight, and ticket holders can get into Magic Kingdom from 4pm. The party continues on select nights through October 31, which leaves room for Disney to adjust the act again later in the season, though nothing of the sort has been announced.
