Crews tearing down The Lost Continent at Universal Islands of Adventure have now reached Mythos Restaurant itself. Video posted October 25 and filmed across the lagoon shows a big piece of the themed rock on the back of the restaurant removed, a yellow turbidity barrier in the water at its base, and the guest path behind Mythos completely walled off. Mythos remains open and is still slated to close in 2027.
The gift shop that outlived Poseidon's Fury is gone too. Treasures of Poseidon, which sat at the attraction's exit, has been torn down in The Lost Continent at Universal Islands of Adventure, within three weeks of construction walls going up around it. Universal still has not said what replaces the land.
The shop at the exit of Poseidon's Fury closed for good earlier this year but had never been walled off. Crews have now pushed The Lost Continent construction walls forward to seal it off from the walkway, and WDW News Today reports it will be demolished. Across the walkway, the walls next to Mythos moved back to give guests more room.
The show building that held Poseidon's Fury has been demolished at Universal Islands of Adventure, leaving a few piles of rubble and a freshly graded sand pad where the entrance and courtyard stood. The Treasures of Poseidon gift shop and the first aid station in The Lost Continent are expected to follow. Universal still has not said what is replacing The Lost Continent.
The scanners that let guests highlight fossils on the Discovering Dinosaurs rock wall are gone, and WDW News Today reports black scrim now covers the signs of the removal. Universal has not announced the change, and it lands while Jurassic Park River Adventure sits closed until November 20.
A Notice of Commencement filed in Orange County lists Garmendale Engineering Limited of Ilkeston, England for an Equipment Install at Universal City. Every Lost Continent update so far has been about tearing things down. This one might point the other way, though the filing never names the land.
