Powerline, Scrooge, Neon Palm Trees: H2O Glow After Hours Returns to Typhoon Lagoon June 2

Forget the castle — for thirteen nights this summer, the place to be at Walt Disney World is a shipwrecked water park bathed in neon. Disney officially announced the 2026 dates for H2O Glow After Hours at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon on the Disney Parks Blog today, and the guest list alone is worth the price of admission.

Powerline. Scrooge McDuck. Launchpad McQuack. We'll get to all of them.

The Dates and the Basics

H2O Glow After Hours is a separately-ticketed night event that takes over Typhoon Lagoon after regular park hours. You get the water park mostly to yourself, neon lights everywhere, character meet-and-greets, a DJ dance party, and unlimited snacks. This year's run:

  • 13 select nights, June 2 through September 5, 2026

    2026 Event Dates

    • June 2, 13, 19 and 27

    • July 3, 7, 17, 24 and 31

    • August 9, 22 and 29

    • September 5

  • 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (ticket holders can enter as early as 6 p.m.)

  • $85 to $89 per adult plus tax, depending on the date

  • $20 off for kids ages 3–9

  • 20% off for Annual Passholders, DVC Members, and Water Park Seasonal Passholders

Resort guests (Disney Resorts Collection, Swan, Swan Reserve, Dolphin, Shades of Green) can book starting today, April 21. The general public goes on sale Friday, April 24. Reservations: (407) 934-7639.

The Characters — And Yes, Powerline Is Here

Here's where it gets fun. This year's meet-and-greet lineup is stacked with deep-cut Disney Afternoon favorites:

Powerline Max from A Goofy Movie appears at Typhoon Lagoon for H2O Glow After Hours

  • Powerline Max — yes, that Max, from A Goofy Movie. Apparently being the son of Goofy means you eventually inherit the shades and the arena tour. He'll be meeting guests all night.

  • Scrooge McDuck — the world's richest duck, doing his first Florida water-park appearance in recent memory.

  • Launchpad McQuack — because every good after-hours party needs a pilot who'll crash the plane into the snack bar.

  • Chip 'n' Dale as the Rescue Rangers — show of hands, who's still got the theme song in their head twenty seconds from now?

  • Donald and Daisy — the requisite duck power couple.

If your core personality trait between 1989 and 1995 was rushing home for the Disney Afternoon block on TV, Disney appears to have built this character list specifically for you.

What's Actually Included

Your ticket gets you more than just neon lighting and nostalgia. The event includes:

The full experience includes:

  • Access to the big-ticket attractions — Surf Pool, Castaway Creek, Humunga Kowabunga, and the rest of the slide roster with typically short waits

  • Stitch- and Sully-themed tubes for Castaway Creek, the park's lazy river

  • A DJ dance party with the character lineup above

  • Complimentary snacks including Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars, with additional menu items to be announced closer to the event

The included snacks tend to be the detail people underrate until they're three Mickey bars in on a warm July night.

The Typhoon Lagoon Context

Typhoon Lagoon opened in 1989 and is about to turn 37, and Disney has been quietly leaning into it. The park just came back from its annual February-to-May refurbishment, Miss Adventure Falls is still the underrated family raft ride on Orlando's water-park map, and the shipwrecked-Miss-Tilly-atop-Mount-Mayday silhouette is still one of the best theme park skylines Disney has.

H2O Glow is the summer event that leans hardest into the park's weird, neon-lit, after-dark charm. Add this year's character list and "Powerline Max at a water park" is honestly one of the better Disney decisions of 2026 so far.

Should You Book?

Quick pro-con:

  • Book if: you have young kids (or your inner 10-year-old is still extremely loud), you're a Disney Afternoon devotee, you want a low-wait water-park night with unlimited snacks, or you can grab one of the cheaper $85 weeknight dates.

  • Maybe skip if: you've already got a packed resort-hotel/park week planned — H2O Glow is a full additional evening commitment on top of everything else, and peak summer Florida evenings come with thunderstorm risk.

Thirteen nights is a surprisingly tight window — especially with Annual Passholder and DVC discounts likely to push some dates toward selling out fast. If you're eyeing a date, this week is the week.

Disney's Wilderness Lodge Battles a Days-Long AC Outage During a Central Florida Heat Wave

A stay at one of Walt Disney World's flagship Deluxe resorts is not supposed to come with a box fan, but that has been the reality for some guests at Disney's Wilderness Lodge this week. The main building's central air conditioning has been down since Thursday, June 18, just as Central Florida sweltered under back-to-back heat advisories with feels-like temperatures topping 105 degrees. By Monday, June 22, Disney had trucked in temporary chillers and portable spot coolers and many guest rooms had cooled back down, though the Grand Lobby and some interior spaces stayed warm, and the central system was not yet fully restored. Disney has not commented publicly.

Universal Files Permits for a 71,500-Square-Foot Building in Epic Universe's Dark Universe

Universal Files Permits for a 71,500-Square-Foot Building in Epic Universe's Dark Universe

Something big is taking shape in the spookiest corner of Epic Universe. A new permit filing points to a building of roughly 71,500 square feet planned for the heart of Darkmoor Village, the classic-monsters town inside the park's Dark Universe world, with Stantec Architecture listed on the paperwork. That footprint is on par with full attractions at Epic Universe, like the Mario Kart ride and the Untrainable Dragon show, so this is no gift shop. Universal will only say that permit filings are routine and that it has no further details to share, which leaves the fun question wide open: a new monster ride, a theater, or something else entirely?
