The sign is up. Crews have hung the black and red Halloween Horror Nights marquee on a truss at the front of Universal Studios Florida, complete with stage lights and speakers rigged underneath it. That truss will serve as the entrance to the event, and it is one of the clearest signs yet that opening night is close.

Halloween Horror Nights 35 runs select nights from August 28 through November 1 at Universal Studios Florida. The announced lineup now stands at 10 haunted houses and 4 scare zones.

A radio station you can order food from

Two food booths have gone into place near the Jaws restrooms, out on the lagoon walkway. The first is WSQK, the radio station from Stranger Things, built to look like the simple Hawkins radio station building the kids hang out in.

The booth is painted in blues and purples over a brick pattern, with black tendrils crawling across the facade and two antenna arrays bolted to the roof. The sign reads "50,000 WSQK WATTS," with a lightning bolt cutting through the Q.

Meetz Meats is back

The second booth is a returning name. Meetz Meats is set up under a giant meat cleaver that doubles as the sign, with the grinning freckled face of mascot Meaty Meetz riding the top right corner of the blade. The stall is white tile over a red brick base, shaded by a red and white striped awning, and finished with bloody handprints and drips down the walls.

Per WDW News Today, Meetz Meats and its mascot were introduced for the 2009 house Leave it to Cleaver, and when the location ran in 2022 it served items including Spoiled Bear Meat, Brains and Freshly Ground Princess. The outlet expects a similarly gruesome menu this year.

Both booths still have their shutters down, and each has a "Pardon Our Dust" A-frame sign out front explaining that the park is being transformed for Halloween Horror Nights 35.

What is still coming

With the marquee up and the food booths landing, physical setup is well underway, though Universal's own lineup page still carries a "so far" caveat. The event opens August 28, with Premium Scream Night on August 27 and again on October 19.

Universal Designed the HHN 35 Sinners House Around One Scene First, and Its Show Director Says That Is Not Always How Houses Get Built

Universal published a room by room walkthrough of the Sinners haunted house one day before Halloween Horror Nights 35 opens. Show director Ramon Paradoa says the team locked the surreal montage set first and designed the scenes before and after it around that, which he says is not always how Universal builds a house. The Sinners house was not on the paid lights on tour that matched three other HHN 35 houses to their codenames last week.
