Quiet Flight Surf Shop

Quiet Flight Surf Shop closed at Universal CityWalk after 25 years, with April 14, 2024 reported as its last day of operation. The shop was still listed as open in this directory until the August 2026 audit.

Tortuga Tavern

Tortuga Tavern has not served guests since summer 2024. TouringPlans lists its final day of operation as July 23, 2024; some trade reports date the shutdown to June 2024 instead. The building was used as the temporary Tortuga Treasures gift shop from August to November 2024, and the restaurant was removed from the Magic Kingdom park map in January 2026. Disney has issued no closure announcement and may still use the space seasonally for Halloween and Christmas party treat service, so this is recorded as unconfirmed.

Cars Ridge Run Rally

Announced at D23 2024 as the headline attraction of Piston Peak National Park in Frontierland. Disney has not announced an opening date or window, and has not confirmed the ride system. Reported 2029 estimates come from permit filings, not from Disney.

Miss Fritter's Daredevil Spin-Along

Confirmed at D23 2024 as a distinct second attraction in Piston Peak National Park, but Disney has published almost no detail beyond it being aimed at younger guests. Ride type and thrill level in this listing are inferred, not official. No opening date or window announced.

Monsters, Inc. Suspended Coaster

Announced at D23 in August 2024. At D23 in August 2026 Disney said the rest of Monstropolis opens in 2027 while work continues on this coaster, so the ride will open after the land. No opening date, season or year has been announced for the coaster itself.

Antonio's Fiesta de Encanto

Announced at D23 2024 and reconfirmed by Disney in April 2026. The 2027 window is official; no exact opening date has been announced. Ride system has not been confirmed.

Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent

Announced at D23 2024, replacing DINOSAUR. The 2027 window is official; no exact opening date has been announced. Reuse of DINOSAUR’s enhanced motion vehicle system is widely reported but has never been officially stated, so thrill level here may be conservative.

El Carrusel de los Animalitos

Announced at D23 2024 and listed by Disney as a distinct attraction in the Tropical Americas land. The 2027 window is official; no exact opening date has been announced.

Disney's Lakeshore Lodge

Disney Vacation Club resort under construction on Bay Lake at the former River Country site beside Fort Wilderness, with 967 rooms and villas planned. Disney's stated window is summer 2027; no exact opening date has been announced. First announced in 2018 as Reflections, a Disney Lakeside Lodge, then shelved and re-announced under the new name on November 26, 2024. The tower structure topped out per mid 2026 reports.

TriceraTop Spin

TriceraTop Spin closed permanently on January 12, 2025 as DinoLand U.S.A. is redeveloped into the Tropical Americas land. The site becomes the new Encanto attraction opening in 2027.

Welcome to Monstropolis

Disney named the show and its venue at D23 in August 2026 and said it is part of the portion of Monstropolis opening in 2027. No month or show schedule has been announced.

Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano

Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano served its last guests on May 10, 2025 and closed permanently to make room for the Monstropolis land based on Monsters, Inc. The building has been gutted and is being rebuilt as Harryhausen's, the table service restaurant from the film. No reopening is planned under the Mama Melrose's name.

The Magic of Disney Animation

First announced in July 2025 as part of the Animation Courtyard reimagining; Disney confirmed the name and the September 14, 2026 opening date in a July 15, 2026 press release. The listing covers five named sub-experiences as one attraction.

Pirate River Quest

Legoland Florida's temporary closures board has listed Pirate River Quest since August 4, 2025 and still carries no end date.

SEAQuest: Legends of the Deep

Announced September 17, 2025 for a 2026 opening. SeaWorld’s official ride page now says only Coming Soon and no longer commits to a date; trade reporting in April 2026 described a mid construction redesign with no revised date, which SeaWorld has neither confirmed nor denied. Treat the 2026 window as SeaWorld’s last stated intent rather than a current commitment.

Jurassic Park River Adventure

Closed January 5, 2026 for an 11-month refurbishment Universal describes as planned maintenance, with permits around $14.8M and aerial photos showing animatronic upgrades. No retheme or replacement has been announced. Universal's posted reopening date is November 20, 2026.

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift

Announced by Universal on January 20, 2026, replacing Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit. The 2027 window is official; no exact opening date, height requirement or speed has been published. Universal Studios Hollywood is getting a separately designed version, so filter reporting by resort. The listing image is the announcement key art; no ride concept art has been released.

Category 10

Announced February 17, 2026 by Luke Combs and Opry Entertainment Group. Ground breaking is planned for summer 2026 with a projected opening in late 2027. No specific opening date has been announced.

Five Guys

Announced April 10, 2026 as part of a wider CityWalk refresh. Universal has said summer 2026 but has not confirmed an opening date. Replaces the Burger King Whopper Bar, which closed April 21, 2026.

Epic Universe Preview Center

The Epic Universe Preview Center at CityWalk closed permanently on April 13, 2026. The Universal Legacy Store reopened in the space on April 24, 2026.

Burger King Whopper Bar

Closed April 21, 2026 after operating at CityWalk since 2009. Universal announced the closure April 10; a Five Guys is slated to replace it in late summer 2026.

Fat One's Hot Dogs & Italian Ice

Announced May 7, 2026. Universal has confirmed the concept and the location (the former Hot Dog Hall of Fame space) but has not released an opening date or the full menu.

Big Al's

Disney's website showed Big Al's operating through May 10, 2026 and closed from May 11. Construction walls went up around the kiosk days later as Piston Peak work advanced through Frontierland.

Universal Orlando's Horror Make-Up Show

The show closed on May 12, 2026 for a complete reimagining. Universal has pushed the reopening to winter 2027 and has not announced a date.

The Diamond Horseshoe

Table service dining ended at The Diamond Horseshoe on May 16, 2026 so the saloon could host Jessie's Roundup, a Toy Story craft and dance party that ran May 26 through September 8, 2026 as part of Cool Kids' Summer. Disney says dining will return to the space in fall 2026 but has not announced a reopening date.

La Signature

Disney says La Signature is temporarily closed beginning June 29, 2026 and is expected to reopen later in 2026. No reopening date has been given. Guerlain merchandise moved to Plume Et Palette for the duration.

Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop

The original Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop is closed for a major remodel. The soda fountain reopened on July 1, 2026 in a temporary Town Center space in the former Black Tap unit and continues to serve guests there. A return to the original location has been described only as Spring 2027, with no specific date announced.

Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress

Disney closed the Carousel of Progress on July 6, 2026 for the biggest update in the attraction's history, including new scenes and a timeline pushed forward. At D23 on August 15, 2026 Disney narrowed the return to late spring 2027 and announced Jamie Lee Curtis as Mom and Bryan Cranston as Dad. Disney has not announced a date.

Volkskunst

Closed abruptly on or just before July 13, 2026, with most of the store blocked off. Cast Members told AllEars and Disney Food Blog the closure allows work on the bathrooms directly backstage; the pavilion's guest restrooms are also walled off. No reopening date has been announced and Disney has not commented officially. Der Teddybär reopened next door on July 14 and hosts the Kidcot station in the interim.

Hot Dog Hall of Fame

Hot Dog Hall of Fame served its final day at Universal CityWalk on Saturday, July 18, 2026 and is permanently closed as of July 19. The space is being taken over by Fat One's Hot Dogs & Italian Ice, a new concept from Joey Fatone and Joe Mulvihill.

Thunder Falls Terrace

Served its last meals July 19, 2026. The building will be transformed into Islands of Adventure's new signature full-service restaurant (name not yet announced), slated to open in 2027. Announced in May 2026 alongside the planned 2027 closure of Mythos.

Six Ravens

Six Ravens was expected to open on July 20, 2026. Disney posted operating hours of 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM and the full menu with prices on the Walt Disney World website that morning, but the venue did not open and the listing reverted to "Coming Soon". No new opening date has been announced as of August 1, 2026.

Mickey Shorts Theater

Disney listed Vacation Fun as temporarily closed beginning August 9, 2026, saying only that it is planned to return later in the year. No reopening date has been announced. The theater itself continues to hand out a free Kermit the Frog magnet to Annual Passholders from August 11 through September 24.

Daddy Pig's Roller Coaster

Disney's Coronado Springs Resort

Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is in a phased refurbishment of its Convention Center, covering the Coronado Ballroom, the Fiesta Ballroom and the Veracruz Exhibition Hall, along with the El Centro corridor and the areas around it. The resort stays open and most of the work runs overnight, but guests may see and hear construction near El Centro, where check-in and much of the resort's dining sit. Disney has given the finish only as late September 2027, with no specific date.

Harryhausen's

Disney detailed Harryhausen's at D23 in August 2026 and said it is part of the portion of Monstropolis opening in 2027. No opening month, menu or reservation date has been announced.

Archie's Scare Pig Pizza

Disney announced Archie's Scare Pig Pizza and the adjacent Monsters University Alumni Club at D23 in August 2026, as part of the portion of Monstropolis opening in 2027. No opening month or menu has been announced.

Scareporium

Disney announced the Scareporium at D23 in August 2026 as part of the portion of Monstropolis opening in 2027. No opening month has been announced.

Villains Land Maleficent Coaster

Walt Disney Imagineering described the Villains Land coaster in detail at D23 on August 15, 2026, including its dragon shaped trains and its route through the briar around Maleficent's fortress. Disney did not name the attraction and did not announce an opening date.

Villains Land Magic Mirror Dark Ride

Walt Disney Imagineering revealed the second Villains Land attraction at D23 on August 15, 2026, a boat dark ride hosted by the Magic Mirror through his Mirror Realm. Disney did not name the attraction and did not announce an opening date.

Fast & Furious: Supercharged

Universal moved the closure up by roughly a year, from the previously announced 2027 to August 16, 2026, telling Annual Passholders around July 15, 2026. The final operating day is August 16; the ride is closed from August 17. Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift takes the site in 2027. Universal has not said why the timeline moved up.

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey

Universal has the anchor ride inside Hogwarts Castle down for twelve days, closed February 8 through February 19, 2027 and back on February 20.

Sideshow Obscura

Universal announced the Halloween Horror Nights 35 Tribute Store on August 5, 2026. It opens August 26 beside Revenge of the Mummy, one day earlier for Annual Passholders.

Big Top Souvenirs
